John holds the industry standard and sought after MSTA qualification for technical analysis. He has over a decade's experience in the financial services industry and is a senior trader at one of the UK’s leading currency brokers. In 2011 John managed and executed over £50m of client funds for both individuals and businesses around the world. A large number of John’s clients are off the back of referrals due to the high quality of his service and knowledge in the markets. His market analysis is regularly quoted in publications and he has been a key note speaker at industry conferences and university seminars in the UK, and this year for the first time will be speaking an international payments conference in Las Vegas. In his spare time John enjoys spending time with his family and keeping fit, which has seen him twice run the London Marathon.
David opted for a career in finance over football. Having played in the West Ham United youth team he thought the long term gains in a financial career would prove more fruitful than that of a short lived football one. Due to his football commitments it wasn’t until his late teens that David developed his interest in foreign exchange and became an intern at an investment bank before moving to a private bank in Jersey before heading back to the capital. David time is split across the Atlantic between Boston and London where he works as a foreign currency exchange adviser for a FTSE 100 company. David still plays football locally and keeps fit at his local gym in West London in his spare time.
Frank is a foreign exchange analyst working out of the Gurkin in Central London. He is a highly respected analyst not only in the UK but also across Europe and The U.S and his reputation has become more enhanced through the recession and Euro Zone crisis with his views and market forecasts. Frank has been heavily involved with the 2012 Olympic Games as a financial consultant for the last couple of years and is looking forward to witnessing the event first hand this year. When he manages to find some spare time Paul likes to relax on the golf course where he has a modest handicap of 2.
Tim has a wealth of experience in the currency markets predominantly as an adviser to expats around the world with their risk and exposure in the markets. He is very well travelled, having left the UK when he was just 20 for an opportunity with his Father in Australia. Tim then went on to work in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Bangkok and back to Singapore. He now splits his time between London, to see his beloved grand children and his home in Kuala Lumper, where he heads up the Expatriate Finance Division of a wealth management company. When he is out of the office Tim manages an expatriate football team and undertakes a lot of local charity work.
Ben left the shores of the UK after completing a degree in Natural Sciences at Cambridge University and was able to get an internship at a fund house in New York where he worked his way up the ranks and became a fund manager. Having been there for just over a decade though, he was realizing how much he missed the UK and headed back just before the recession hit in 2007. Having made a successful career and name for himself, Ben was in a position to gain investment and set up his own foreign exchange company with an old University friend who previously worked in the FX markets. The firm now employs over 50 people and is looking to open an office in New York later this year. Outside of the currency world Ben spends time at the race track where he has a share in 3 horses, 1 of which is in this year’s Grand National so he might be able to give you a tip or two!
James is a respected FX commentator around the world. He spent 20 years of his life as an FX and derivatives broker before becoming a free lance consultant and coach. He first started off his career in continental Europe’s financial hub of Frankfurt having growing up in Germany where his Father was posted with the Army. He started his early career working for large German institutions in the late 80s. James then later moved back to England with his German wife to work for a brief spell in London before moving to Singapore with the same company and for a short spell worked on the same trading floor as the infamous Nick Leeson. James relocated to Zurich where he picked up an appetite for skiing. He tries to get out there a couple times a year but now resides back in Frankfurt, which his wife claims is purely so he can enjoy his love of fast cars on the Autobahn.
Toni, short for Antonia, has been living and working in London for the past 7 years having moved to the UK after growing up in New York. She studied at London School of Economics and fell in love with the city which she now calls home. After gaining a first at LSE in capital markets and accounting she joined one of the world's largest banks before moving on to a leading investment bank where she became the company’s youngest female investment banker. Toni is a keen swimmer and polo player and once modeled for the Ralph Lauren polo clothing range when she lived in New York just before moving to the UK.
Minesh moved to the UK from Mumbai with his family when he was just seven years old (he recalls it being called Bombay when he left) as his Father worked for one of the ‘big 4’ accountancy firms. Following in his father’s financial footsteps Minesh always wanted a career which involved money, more specifically currency as he was fascinated with different coins from different countries having seen the difference with Rupiah and Pounds and their values at an early age. Minesh now work on the foreign exchange dealing desk of a leading Commodities, Financial Futures & Options Brokerage in Canary Wharf. On the weekends in the summer you’ll find Minesh playing for his local cricket team where he delivers a mean off spin!
